Report: Next-gen iPhone could dump the Lightning port in favor of USB-C | Ars Technica

With Apples newest business unit being “Dongles” this could be one of the smartest moves they have made in a long time.  It makes sense if you read Ars take on the subject.  More universal, more throughput and it is stronger than the lighting connector.  Only time will tell if Apple if can see the benefits of going to a “standard” connector.  I wonder how Steve Jobs would feel about this?

iPhones and iPads have used Lightning since the iPhone 5 was released in 2012.
